Picnic on the Mountain and Celebrate America's Birthday - Saturday, July 4, 2015
Celebrate America's Birthday with us! The orchard will be open until 10:00PM special this year, for firework viewing. There will be family-oriented activities and games, food available for purchase, hayrides, Prince Michel Wine and Bold Rock Hard Cider, and a good ol-fashioned time! No outside alcohol permitted, by ABC law. Sparklers, fireworks, etc are not permitted, as they are a fire hazard.
Schedule of Events:
9AM - open for the day! Peaches, cider donuts, cider slushies, apple and peach pies.
11A - Prince Michel at Carter Mountain Wine Shop opens
11A - Bold Rock Hard Cider Cellar opens
4:30P - Bicycle Parade! All ages welcome! Bring your bicycle, decorated in patriotic colors, flags, streamers, balloons, garland, etc. We'll parade around the mountain!
5P - Dinner service begins - menu TBA - serving til 8:30P
5PM - Live Music, til 9PM
5:15P - Old Fashioned Sack Races - all ages
6P - Water Balloon Toss - all ages
6:30P - Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader History Challenge - families or groups are welcome
7P - Watermelon Bar - we'll be slicing up watermelons for a refreshing snack
7:15P - Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest - all ages
9P - Local fireworks begin - view from Carter Mountain

Mountain BBQ Challenge and Cook-Off - Saturday, August 15, 2015
2015 Carter Mountain Orchard "Thrill of the Grill" Mountain Top Summer Barbeque Cook off Challenge!
Carter Mountain Orchard invites the "Grill Master" in all of us to take the challenge on Saturday, August 18th. Keeping the grilling field fair, categories in "Professional"," Amateur", and "Youth" divisions will be offered. All "Youth" grillers will be required to be assisted and supervised by an adult. All grilling contestants must use one Carter Mountain Orchard product in their barbeque masterpiece. Grilling options can include but not limited to: beef, pork, chicken, and lamb. All grillers must bring and supply their own grill, fire extingiusher , meat, and utensils. Carter Mountain Orchard opens at 9 am, set up in designated grilling location begins at 9 am. Contestant's will be able to grill between the hours of 9:30am-12;30 pm. Food presentation and judging will be scheduled for 1 pm. Contestant's must supply paper plates, and plastic forks for tastings. Awards given in each division. Carter Mountain Orchard invites family and friends to take the challenge to "master the grill" once and for all, on the mountain with the "Thrill of the Grill Challenge"
Johnny Appleseed's Birthday Party - Saturday, September 19, 2015
Come meet and explore the world of Johnny Appleseed. Meet a costume interpreter of Johnny himself, learn how to plant apple trees, see and feel how our pioneer ancestors traveled across America in covered wagons, visit Johnny’s camp site. Most of all, come pick APPLES! And enjoy fiddle and folk music.

Bring your donation of new or gently used warm clothing, turn it in to a staff member, and receive a coupon for 10% off all your purchases at Carter Mountain for that day! You'll also receive a good feeling inside! Donations will be turned in to a local charity at the conclusion of the drive. Thanks for helping!
