Carter Mountain Orchard often has seasonal positions available. These are great jobs for mature and personable high school and college students, retired folks, and anyone looking to supplement their income. Depending on the season, positions available can vary. If you enjoy working with people in a great outdoor, family-oriented atmosphere, we may be looking for you!

Job Descriptions:

Assistant Manager:
Duties include, but not limited to: providing excellent customer service by performing opening and/or closing duties, supervising staff, managing deliveries and inventories, interacting with and assisting customers, cashiering, etc. Must be organized, personable, and flexible. Retail, management, and/or customer service experience preferred.

Retail Sales:
Duties include, but not limited to: providing excellent customer service by greeting and waiting on walk-in customers, stocking (lifting and carrying boxes), cashiering, etc. Must be accurate, enjoy working with the public, and spending time outdoors. Customer service/retail experience preferred.

Field Trip Leaders:
Duties include, but not limited to: providing excellent customer service and educational experiences to our school groups visiting the orchard. Meet teachers and students as they check in, lead them through each component of their field trip, and teach provided educational information. Must be organized, energetic, flexible, and love working with pre-school and school-age children. Most field trips are on weekday mornings; some afternoon tours are scheduled. This position can be combined with a retail sales position.

Tractor Driver:
Duties include: providing excellent customer service by driving a tractor that pulls a hay wagon for tours of the orchard, as well as fueling and taking care of the tractor and wagon. Must enjoy interacting with the public. Tractor experience required.

Bakery Cashier/Assistant:
Duties include, but not limited to: providing excellent customer service by assisting with sales, prep, cleaning, etc. Customer service experience preferred.

Birthday Party Host:
Duties include, but not limited to: providing excellent customer service by coordinating logistics of birthday parties, including assisting with reservations, greeting groups upon arrival, staying with group while on property to ensure that everyone has a great time. Must be organized, friendly, and enjoy working with children. Please note, most birthday parties occur on weekends. Will also perform retail sales duties when no parties taking place.

We are currently hiring for the following seasonal positions:

Assistant Manager – seasonal part time positions available. 30-35 hours per week, including some weekend hours. Must be available weekends in October. Position begins mid-June and goes through November.

Retail sales – seasonal full and part time positions available. Days/hours flexible. Must be available weekends in October. Position begins June 20th and goes through October or mid-late November.

Field Trip Leaders – seasonal positions available. Begins early-mid September and goes through mid-late October. Hours vary each day, depending on number of field trips scheduled. Can combine with a retail sales position.

Tractor Driver – weekday and weekend hours available. September through October.
